ご縁に恵まれて
洲本市の姉妹都市へ！
昨年7月に訪問して下さった方々と
夢のような再会が果たせました✨✨
たった一度しかお会いしていないのに
たくさんの方が会いに来て下さいました。
これも、今まで、ハワイ郡と洲本市のご縁を繋いで下さってきた方々のおかげです。
ハワイ郡の姉妹都市は6ヶ所あるそうですが
ハワイ島のヒロ市と洲本市は
共通点がたくさん！
車がなければ不便な交通状況、
自然に恵まれた環境、
適度な田舎度合いなど
すごく親しみが湧くのだそうです。
手厚いおもてなし、まさにALOHAの心を感じました。
コロナ禍で中断していた、高校生のホームステイも
今年は復活予定だそうで
8月には洲本市から、
10月にはハワイ郡から訪問。
フラ界のオリンピックと言われる
メリーモナークフェスティバルの時期ということもあり、　
伊香保温泉観光協会の方々も来られていました。
優勝したハーラウを、伊香保ハワイアンフェスティバルへご招待されるそうです。
その後、オアフ島へ移動し
すっかりにぎわいの戻ったまちの雰囲気を味わいました。
まだまだ日本人観光客は多くなく
アジアからの訪問もそこそこ、
まだ夏前の気候は
まとめて雨が降り、その後は晴れて暑くなります。
コロナ前に比べ、キャッシュレスが進み
バスに乗るのもチャージできるカードが必要、と
慣れないと不便ですが
今回はサンダルが壊れるほど
ほんとによく歩きました💦
痛感したのは、英語力の無さ！
頼りの翻訳アプリもなかなか使いこなせず
なんとなく慣れる頃に帰国の途につきました。
帰りの飛行機✈️も遅れること2時間半。
終バスに乗れず、三宮泊まりになりそうでしたが
旦那さんが迎えにきてくれました✨✨
これもハワイの奇跡w
時差ボケのまま、翌日からさっそく当庁。
日本語が下手になっただけでしたが
今回は、ご縁のありがたさと、
朝活の大切さを学んだ旅になりました。

To Sumoto’s sister city!
I had a dreamlike reunion with the people who visited last July.
I only met you once
Many people came to see us.
This is also thanks to the people who have connected Hawaii County and Sumoto City until now.
Hawaii County has six sister cities.
Hilo and Sumoto have a lot in common.
Inconvenient traffic conditions without a car,
environment blessed with nature,
Appropriate rural degree, etc.
They feel close to us
I felt the heart of ALOHA, the warm hospitality.
Homestays for high school students that had been suspended due to the corona crisis
It is expected to be revived this year
From Sumoto City in August,
Visited from Hawaii County in October.
Known as the Olympics of the hula world
Since it’s the time of the Merrie Monarch Festival,
People from the Ikaho Onsen Tourism Association were also there.
It seems that the winning Harau will be invited to the Ikaho Hawaiian Festival.
Then move to Oahu
I enjoyed the atmosphere of a town that has completely returned to life.
Not many Japanese tourists yet
There are quite a few visitors from Asia,
The weather is still before summer
It rains all together, then sunny and hot.
Compared to pre-corona, cashless progress
I need a card that can be charged to ride the bus
Inconvenient if I am not used to it
This time my sandals broke
I walked really well💦
What struck me was the lack of English skills!
I’m having a hard time using the reliable translation app
By the time I got used to it, I was on my way home.
The return flight ✈️ is also 2 and a half hours late.
I couldn’t get on the last bus, so I was going to stay in Sannomiya.
My husband came to pick me up ✨✨

With jet lag, I went to the agency from the next day.
